Donna Thomson is an author and speaker on issues relating to family caregiving, disability and aging. Her book The Four Walls of My Freedom: Lessons I've Learned From a Life of Caregiving (House of Anansi Press, 2014) explores how families giving care can be supported to have a good life. Donna's blog, The Caregivers' Living Room, was named by Feedburner in 2017 as one of both the top 50 Caregiver Blogs and top 60 Aging Blogs. Donna is a leader in family engagement in health research and sits on the board of a Canadian national research funding body. Donna teaches family caregivers how to advocate for care in the community at The Advocacy School and at Huddol.com. She is co–writing a new book on caregiving with Dr. Zachary White about the transitions from loved one to caregiver to advocate.
