Susan Landeis

Susan is a certified nutritional consultant, author, senior advocate, and caregiver. She managed her own blog and website, featuring practical tips for senior care and healthy nutrition. She also has a background in health information management, where she dedicated over 20 years in the field. In 2010, she unexpectedly found herself taking on the role of caregiver for both of her parents. While her mother had Parkinson's dementia, Susan's father lovingly cared for his wife until his own health started to decline. Susan then made the decision to step in and care for them both.

When traditional medicine didn't seem to be enough to manage her father's growing health problems, Susan turned to natural health care for answers. She decided to take a natural approach by making some healthy changes and incorporating more nutritious foods into his diet. Gradually his health started to improve, and with his doctor's approval, they were able to reduce, as well as eliminate several of his medications.

Feeling inspired, Susan followed her passion for food and nutrition and went back to school to study natural healthcare and nutrition. She then became board certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP).

Currently, Susan is working on a memoir about her personal journey caring for her late mother. She continues to care for her father and share the awareness of the importance of healthy nutrition through her writing, articles, and speaking. She also enjoys creating healthier versions of her family's favorite recipes.

In her book titled Optimal Caregiving: A guide for managing senior health and well–being, Susan addresses concerns about senior care, changing nutritional needs, healthy meal preparation, and much more. Drawing from her own personal experiences as a caregiver, she understands that many people step into this role with very little knowledge or preparation. Her belief is that diet has a direct impact on health and well–being, at any age. Not all health–related issues are a normal part of aging. Her mission is not only to inspire you, but also to empower you with useful information to help guide you on your journey. We are all in this together!

Her book, Optimal Caregiving, is available on Amazon and international bookstores. Click on the link to get your copy: Optimal Caregiving: A guide for managing senior health and well being
